Large private estate in Shropshire requires experienced Estate Manager.
The estate is a mixture of arable, forestry and livestock, and the role requires someone with a depth of knowledge to be able to run the estate seamlessly.
The ideal candidate will have extensive estate management experience, including knowledge of grants/subsidies and accounts/estate finances. Must have a passion for regenerative practices, open to experimental farming methods, and a cheerful, willing approach.
Duties include:
- Meeting with the owner to discuss plans, events, and general estate requirements.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Developing and managing the estate's budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Property Management: Overseeing the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of buildings, gardens, and grounds. This includes coordinating with maintenance staff and contractors.
- Staff Supervision: Hiring, training, and managing estate staff, including housekeepers, groundskeepers, and security personnel.
- Deal with tenants and monitor tenancy agreements.
- Work alongside farm manager and forestry contractors.
- Legal Compliance: Ensuring that the estate adheres to local laws and regulations, including zoning, labour laws, and health and safety standards.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Implementing environmentally friendly practices and managing conservation efforts within the estate's grounds.
- Vendor Management: Establishing relationships with vendors and suppliers for services such as landscaping, maintenance, and catering.
- Security and Safety: Ensuring the security of the estate, including managing security systems and protocols, and overseeing safety compliance.
- Managing all administrative tasks like submitting insurance claims, filing legal documents, and preparing invoices.
c £70,000 – £80,000 plus accommodation.
Accommodation comprises a cottage on the estate.
